"I have [just completed a degree in drama] and studied [singing] with Sarah Rhodes for three years and would recommend her to anyone. I came to her during my first year of university with a very basic singing technique and virtually no knowledge of music theory (reading music was a real struggle!) Being a first year student in a new place, I was very nervous upon attending my first consultation lesson but Sarah quickly put me at ease with her warm personality and great sense of humour, and we quickly established a great friendship. Not only has Sarah transformed my voice and increased my overall range by vastly improving my technique, but she has also vastly improved my abilities in performance and interpretation of songs, passing on her wealth of experience as a professional and her wide musical knowledge.

Sarah helped me no end in overcoming my struggles with reading music by taking the time to teach music theory to myself and another student over several months in 2012. This resulted in us both taking our ABRSM Grade 5 theory exams that year, and both passing with merits. Sarah also guided us both through ABRSM Grades 5 and 8 Singing that same year, and the fact that we both passed each exam with distinctions is testament to her as a teacher.

Not only is Sarah a fantastic teacher, and singer herself, but her kindness, patience and belief in her students make her an ideal teacher for anyone, whether complete beginners or experienced singers. I am currently in the process of applying for Music College, and with Sarah’s invaluable help, I am hoping to join her ever-growing list of pupils to go on to study at the country’s most prestigious conservatoires. I would recommend Sarah Rhodes to anyone who enjoys singing, as they would not only be getting a fantastic teacher with a wealth of knowledge and experience, but also a fantastic person who is always prepared to go the extra mile, and really cares for her students."
